Pimcore to InDesign Integration Bundle connects Pimcore to Adobe InDesign, allowing teams to create any data-driven print or digital publication using accurate, centrally managed information from Pimcore. 

Whether you produce brochures, datasheets, manuals, multi-language materials, technical documentation, or product marketing content, the bundle pulls structured data and digital assets directly from Pimcore into InDesign. Layout and creativity remain fully in designers’ hands, while content stays consistent and easy to update.

Designers can:

●       Browse exposed Pimcore objects

●       Access DAM assets

●       Insert structured data into layout placeholder elements

●       Track and apply data updates when needed

The integration is one-way (Pimcore → InDesign).

Designers can freely edit layouts without breaking the data connection.

Architecture

The solution consists of two components:

1. Factory Pimcore Bundle (Pimcore side)

●       Installed via Composer

●       Uses Pimcore DataHub GraphQL to expose selected objects, attributes, and assets

●       Administrators define exactly what is available to InDesign

●       License management handled within Pimcore Admin

●       Data exposure is fully configurable through GraphQL configuration.

●       The bundle does not introduce additional user role logic beyond Pimcore’s existing permission structure.

2. Factory InDesign Plugin (Adobe side)

Installed as an Adobe InDesign extension.

Includes:

●       Products – Browse and insert exposed objects

●       Assets – Access exposed DAM assets

●       Updates – Track and apply changes to published Pimcore data

●       Settings – Manage connection and environments

When published Pimcore data changes, updates become visible inside InDesign and can be applied selectively. Only linked text and images are refreshed. Layout and formatting remain unaffected.
